Nadia Newton Johnson grew up on her family's farm on the banks of the Breede River just outside the town of Robertson in the Western Cape where the Cilliers family have been farming and growing grapes on the farm Eilandia for six generations. After graduating from Stellenbosch University with a degree in Oenology and Viticulture in 2002, she worked vintages in Australia, California and Hamilton Russell Vineyards in the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley before joining the winemaking team at Groot Constantia. In 2006, after two invaluable years working in Constantia, she joined her husband Gordon at Newton Johnson Vineyards in the Upper Hemel-en-Aarde Valley where, Nadia says, they love their little part of the world and enjoy sharing it with others through their wines.
