Nono - Parking Included

Hod Hasharon is not a town one would usually associate with an innovative wine restaurant but since its launch a couple of years ago, NONO has made its mark in an area somewhat short of good dining options, especially one that prides itself on original and quality foods at reasonable prices. And did I mention parking? No problem, this is a small town which won't tow your car away in the middle of dinner.

Its not that Nono has an extensive wine list, or amazing cellar. Rather its this upscale trattoria's dedication to providing interesting and off-beat wines that makes the difference, including their own family winery's Lewinsohn label and a house wine produced especially for them which is sold by the glass or decanter.

But more so, over the past year under the guiding hand of sommelier Mor Bernstein, Nono has held a series of dedicated evenings: World Wines, wine makers choices, sommeliers choices, wine writers choices and notably, Winter of Syrah - a project which gained both local and international recognition.

This family-friendly restaurant is bustling. Come evenings it is usually fully seated but the attentive and plentiful wait staff make sure you are well attended. The portions are generous - their thin-crust pizzas come with a selection of innovative toppings are great for sharing. Reservations for tables are recommended but if you don't mind waiting, take a seat at the bar instead. This week, on Tuesday 24th April, the wine list will be chosen by women from the Israeli wine industry - Ayala Zinger, Roni Saslove, Nitzan Swersky and of course, Mor herself. It should be interesting.
